Energy: scenarios and challenges

The energy issue is one of the greatest challenges that mankind has to face in the 21st century. The main aim of this lesson is to acquaint the students with the main concepts related to energy, focusing particular on its importance in human development and in present society.

The definition of energy, its availability, the future demand trends and its relationship with climate change are also discussed, together with some examples of typical commonplaces.
