Energy, growth and development
The lesson aims at analysing energy in terms of growth and development, focusing in particular on how society uses energy and how access to energy is distributed in the world. As nowadays not all members of society have same access to energy and technologies, limited access to energy and technologies translates into reduced human development (South East Asia, Africa as well as part of south America).
By exploring energy innovation and its connection to growth, Dr Zaragoza explores the links of energy poverty to development and of energy access to energy efficiency, economic growth, infrastructure improvement and quality of life. Finally, environmental challenges related to the growing demand for energy are also addressed.
